THE CRAFT MAFIA
The Philadelphia Craft Mafia is here to spread the word of the DIY (do it yourself) Revolution in the of City of Brotherly Love. The first Craft Mafia was founded in 2003 by nine crafty business women in Austin, TX. The group originally came together through a shared love for craft, DIY ethics and mutual respect. As the Craft Mafia developed, it became a forum for networking, promotion and shared ideas. Since it's development in Austin, other Craft Mafias have popped up nationwide and around the globe.
As the Philadelphia Craft Mafia, we are a collective of crafty, independent, small business owners, who have come together to support each other, and promote our businesses. The Philadelphia Craft Mafia meets monthly to network, critique, and plan events. All of our members strive to push the boundaries of creativity in Philadelphia and bring you only the best in handmade goods.
Our goal is to assist the enrichment of the local arts and crafts scene. We strongly believe that by coming together, we can create an awesome creative community; abundant with resources, and opportunities for everyone. The Philadelphia Craft Mafia aims to work with local galleries, art organizations, and non-profit groups in spreading the message of creativity and innovation.
If you are interested in becoming a member of The Philadelphia Craft Mafia, you must operate an art, or craft business. More information on joining is available on our GET MADE! page.
